From Brian Court, a KAP1 grad who is also a hypnotherapist:
“Tao asked me to post a pointer to EMDR (“Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing”) in today’s class. There’s a pretty good writeup here:

http://hubpages.com/hub/EMDR–the-swift-and-easy-way-out-of-painful-events-and-memories

and the video linked at the bottom of that page has a demonstration of the process (unfortunately in French, but it’s easy enough to follow even for us monoglots).

One note: when I learned the process, I was taught not just to move the eyes back and forth horizontally, but also up, up-right, down-right, down, down-left, and up-left — that is, moving the eyes to all possible positions rapidly back and forth. That’s a bit different from what’s shown on the video; I don’t know which is more effective, or whether it matters.”

8 ) Sanskrit Mantras that Alleviate Destructive Emotions
on page 146 of Healing Mantras, by Thomas Ashley Farrand (book) or (audio book)
includes mantras for fear, anger, frustration/hatred, pride, envy, ignorance/delusion, covetousness, consuming lust, mistrust/suspiciousness, shame, fickleness, jealousy, aversion/disgust, arrogance, conceit, grief, dejection, agitation, laziness, sadness, and duplicity. All work. The book also has mantras for loneliness, harmonizing relationship, and much more.

All of the above techniques can be enormously helpful, but if you are suffering from depression, or troubling emotional symptoms, please seek the help of a skilled and compassionate health professional. You are worth it.
